Symetra Tour announces new stop in Asheville, NC Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission (ABRSC) and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) jointly announced today that Mission Foundation will sponsor the Friends of Mission Charity Classic, a new tournament on the 2013 Symetra Tour -- Road to the LPGA.
New Kids on the Block: Camilla Lennarth This week's featured rookie is Sweden native and University of Alabama graduate Camilla Lennarth who is coming off a career best T14 finish at the Riviera Nayarit Classic in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico last month. Lennarth joined the Symetra Tour with an impressive amateur and collegiate resume to her name and is looking to finish in the top-10 in her first year on Tour.
Winning Alums in the Field at Sybase Match Play All three Symetra Tour alumni to win on the LPGA Tour this season will be competing in Gladstone, NJ this week at the Sybase Match Play Championship. Angela Stanford, Stacy Lewis and Pornanong Phatlum are looking for their second wins of the season at the Tour's only match-play event of 2012.

Inaugural Jennifer Song Spirit Award Presented to Decatur Native Former Symetra Tour and current LPGA professional Jennifer Song (Ann Arbor, Mich.) was onsite at the Boys and Girls Club of Decatur, Ill. on Thursday to present the new award that honors her charitable legacy in the Decatur community. The Jennifer Song Spirit Award Presented by Investment Planners, Inc. was awarded to John Schirle (Decatur, Ill.) for his widespread philanthropic endeavors in the local community. The award was established to recognize a Macon County resident who exhibits enthusiasm, integrity and perseverance beyond the ordinary to help children in the community develop their dreams through selfless giving – be it talent, money or time.
